Have you heard about Honeymoon Beach? It's a gorgeous spot in the Virgin Islands that's perfect for some relaxation and tranquility.

Unlike the more crowded beaches, you'll need to hop on a water taxi or a catamaran to reach this hidden gem. Oh, and if you happen to be on a cruise ship that docks in St. Thomas, you're in luck! Honeymoon Beach is within your reach, and trust me, it's worth the visit.

How to Get to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island

If you are docked at Crown Bay Cruise Terminal, it is pretty easy to get to Honeymoon Beach. You can take a 5 minute walk to Tickles Restaurant, which is where the water taxi leaves from.

If you are docked at the Havensight Dock Terminal, it will take you about 1 hour to get to Honeymoon Beach. You’ll have to take a taxi to Crown Bay Cruise Terminal and then take a 10 minute water taxi ride.

Warning:

I would NOT recommend going to Honeymoon Beach if your cruise ship docks at the Havensite Cruise Port.

It took us about 1 hour to get to Honeymoon Beach. Plus, Honeymoon Beach is more crowded that it used to be.

If you are docked at Havensite Cruise Port, I’d recommend going to Coki Point or Sapphire Beach instead.

How to Get to Honeymoon Beach from Havensight Dock Terminal St. Thomas Cruise Port

If you are arriving at the Havensight Dock Terminal, you will need to take a taxi to the Crown Bay Cruise Terminal to catch a water taxi.

Once you arrive at Crown Bay Cruise Terminal, you can take a water taxi to Honeymoon Beach.

Taking the Water Ferry to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island

To take the water ferry/taxi to Honeymoon Beach, you’ll need to buy a water taxi ticket. The water ferry is $15 round trip.

The water ferry/taxi is in the Crowne Bay Marina cruise port right by Tickles restaurant.

The water ferry ride is about 10 minutes to Water Island.

Once you arrive on Water Island, you’ll hop on a complimentary bus (tips appreciated) for a short 3 minute bus ride to Honeymoon Beach.

You will get a nice view of St. Thomas too.

Honeymoon Beach is one of the nicest beaches near St. Thomas.

The beach is quiet and relaxing.

However, it can be a bit of a pain to get to Honeymoon Beach if your cruise docks at the Havensight Dock terminal (one of the two cruise ports in St. Thomas).

Additionally, Honeymoon Beach isn’t as quiet as it used to be.

My mom went to Honeymoon Beach 10 years ago and no one was there. Now, the beach is a bit crowded because catamarans take groups of people there.

Additionally, you will need to pay for a beach chair and an umbrella in Honeymoon Beach.

Plan on paying $30 for two beach chairs and an umbrella at Honeymoon Drinks.

If you are docked at Crown Marina cruise port, it will take you about 30 minutes to get to Honeymoon Beach. You won’t have to take a taxi, which is nice. You can easily walk from the Crown Marina cruise port to the water taxi.

The water taxi ride to Honeymoon Beach is 10 minutes. It also leaves right on time, so show up at least 10 minutes early to get a seat on the water taxi.
